I have a friend named Zak. Zak has a channel on YouTube called TeddizGeneral. On that channel, he tortures himself with some of the worst games in the world, and some of the greatest classics. He's actually quite fun to watch and listen to as he plays.
While I lived in Florida, I was able to co-commentate on a few of this videos, namely Action52 and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. But when I moved back to California, I was no longer able to do that. Or so I thought.
Last year sometime, we came up with the idea of doing this thing called Let's Compete, where we pick a single player game, set a few rules, and see who wins. First we chose Megaman X, where we had to get all E-Tank, Heart-tanks, all armor upgrades and get the Hadoken before killing Sigma. Second was a run of Thunder Force IV, with the win condition of who has the most lives at the end. Third up, Sonic and Knuckles special stage run with who can get to the farthest level. Fun times were had with all of them, even though the video for the only compete I won was 'lost'. ^.^
Recently, we did Outrun, and because I actually like doing this kind of thing, I told Zak that I would edit this one, mainly because I wanted to bring up the production value of the competition.
You can watch this series here. The biggest change I wanted to make to the previous runs was the inclusion of an intro and outro, as well as finding perfect places to do video fades so there isn't an abrupt end to each video, as well as make a spot for annotations. I'll continue to add to the intro and outro as we play more games and get more footage.
But it got me to thinking. I really like playing random games against people, and it's kind of fun putting a bit of competition in there. It's mainly for bragging rights. And because of it, I kind of want to start a whole channel dedicated to that. Two people playing the same game at the same time, and just talking to each other as we play. On my channel, I'd get a new person each competition, and maybe someday I could get some YouTube celebrities to join in (maybe even some real celebrities).
Right now, I'd only be able to do emulated games via screen recording my computer, which works, but I would like to get something to record console games. The only device I found that would work that ISN'T ridiculously expensive still costs $180, which is kind of high.
But alas, I'm still planning it. Anyways, enjoy the Let's Compete series.
Random Ideas From My Head
Whenever I get around to doing something, regardless of what it is, I'll post it here. Why? Because I can.

The Turing Machine AMV
Back in college, I became and big fan of a band called Traverser. They are an Orlando based progressive experimental band and honestly, they are pretty awesome. The guys in the band are really down to earth good guys, and I immediately placed them into my Level 2 slot. (if you haven't read my Friends post, do so and it'll explain what that means.) I knew that every opportunity I could get, I would want to go see them live.
Last year, they released a new album (one I am waiting to get until they can make it out to California so I can get them to sign it after their show), but since they posted a few songs via YouTube, I managed to get a couple songs to listen to. One song was called "The Turing Machine", and as soon as I listened to it, the wheels started turning. Knowing David, the lead singer, is an Evangelion fan as much as I am, and given the tone and lyrics of the song, adding in that they had previously made an AMV to another song of theirs called EMD, I knew I had to do something with this song.
12 hours later, this is what I created.
I originally posted it to YouTube, but after the internet suicide I took part in at the start of this year, it was obviously removed from the internet. However, I decided to enter it into an FMV contest at Fanime in San Jose, California this year. I've done a few other AMVs, but this one just has the best quality of them all as far as editing (plus it's a song I KNOW none of the judges have heard 1000 times.)
I'm hoping it does well. If not, I'm not going to fret over it. But it would be nice if it managed to at least make an honorable mention. I'd be ecstatic if it won the Action category I entered it in, or if it takes a Best In Show award, either from the Judges or the Crowd.

Random Internet Idea 2
I've seen a lot of serious fake trailers for movies people want made, with a cast that actually would fit correctly. However, I have one that would just be hilarious as a movie. I can see it now...that awesome announcer voice comes on and...
"In a world, where war rages on. Where battles are won by men and machines. One man is sent in to prevent nuclear disaster. On man...in a box."
Solid Snake: Colonel...I've found a box.
Colonel: Good...you can use it to...
Solid Snake: It's so lovely...I think it loves me to.
"With Pauli Shore as Colonel Roy Cambell..."
Colonel: Nu-uh...I'M THE WEASEL!
"...Gabriel Inglesias as Otacon..."
Otacon: Dude...this is just like one of my Japanese Animes...
"Danny Devito as Liquid Snake."
Liquid: SNAKE!
"Nicolas Cage is..."
Snake: Metal Gear
"...A SNAKE IN A BOX."
Basically, I'd love to see a trailer where we take some the characteristics these actors are known for, and throw them in with the idea of Metal Gear Solid. Get Arnold Scharzenegger to play Vulcan Raven, Keanu Reeves gets to play as Grey Fox, and throw Morgan Freeman in as the DARPA Chief. I'd love to see Jessica Alba play Sniper Wolf, Amy Schumer play Meryl, Jim Carrey play Psycho Mantis, and Chris Rock play Revolver Ocelot. Why those people? Some because I could just see them taking the role and having fun with it, and others because they absolutely would not fit the role at all, so even if they tried to take it serious, it'd be hilarious. Get the whole thing co-directed by Quentin Tarantino and Michael Bay, and you have gold.
Also, the voice of Metal Gear is done by Mike Tyson. ^.^

Random Internet Idea
Sean Connery and Solid Snake playing Twenty Questions, but both of them are idiots. Sean Connery is the guy with the object in mind, while Snake is trying to find out what it is, but every question he asks is someway related to Metal Gear Solid, and Sean Connery keeps responding with his movie roles.
Example dialog:
SS: Is it Liquid?
SC: No, but did I ever tell you about the time I was a dragon. It was long ago, when knights of the old code still were around, and...
SS: (Interrupting) Is...is it Metal Gear?
SC: Y'know...you remind me a lot of Junior. I taught him everything there was to know about history. We even searched for the Holy Grail one time. The boy always insisted on being called after the dog...
SS: GRRR...
I'm not much of a writer, but the idea is there.
Random Movie Idea 1
So, imagine the Dark Knight movie series, only played by Looney Tunes characters.
Batman - Bugs Bunny
Raz Algul - Tweety Bird
Scarecrow - Sylvester
Comissioner Gordon - Foghorn Leghorn
Bane - Marvin Martian
Joker - Daffy Duck
Catwoman - Lola Bunny
Two Face - Wile E Coyote
The more I go into it, the more it works. Even turning it into a comedy movie would work. And yet, I bet you Warner Bros doesn't even know the potential they have with it. They essentially have already figured out the plot for three movies, as well as knowing the basic pacing for editing and having a starting point for the lines. Rework the lines, story board some hilarious actions directly based on the scenes already shot, and get to work. I'll consider this a horrible loss to society if this doesn't get made.

BONC Song Project Post 1
So I've been known to get random ideas for pictures and just start drawing them. Recently I've been doing a few for the Bronies of Northern California (BONC). It started after seeing the ending to Season 3 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and I thought "Hey...why not take a few original characters these guys have made, and rewrite the song lyrics to match them." With that, I came up with this.
What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me (BONC Version)
(Violet Dream)
TK? Why are you in Kitsune's place? And why are you trying to set up dates?
(Thunderkeg)
I see two ponies lonely
And want to help them out.
But after just ten minutes
They start a bucking bout.
I set up all these blind dates
And hope that their happy
That has to be my destiny
Cause it's what my cutie mark is telling me.
(Kitsune)
I'm always at the computer
and nothing comes to mind
And everything I try to draw
Just ends up unrefined
I don't get photoshop tools
Or color theory
This destiny is not easy
But it's what my cutie mark is telling me.
(Pixel)
I smile and laugh and tell my jokes
But get no laughter from these folks
And acting like I'm British
Can't get a smile from any bloke.
If they knew how hard I'm trying
I'd get laughs of sympathy
'Cause can't you see my destiny
It's what my cutie mark is telling me.
(Bo)
The sounds they rattle in my head
and cause my head to ache
And when others listen to it
their ears they want to rake
I love to make this music
but the truth I must decree
My destiny, it ain't easy.
But it's what my cutie mark is telling me.
(Nymo)
I try to design new games
But never get them done
And just to keep up with my work
I have no time for fun
It's hard to be efficient
When facts weigh down on me
But it has to be…
(Kitsune)
It has to be…
(Pixel)
My destiny…
(Thunderkeg)
My destiny…
(Nymo and Bo)
Cause it's what my cutie mark
(All)
It's what my cutie mark
Yes it's what my cutie mark is telling me!
I liked it. And apparently they did too because as soon as I posted it, the entire Facebook group started planning to record it themselves. Hopefully, it should be nearly done. But I wasn't even done. I had to take it one step further and do the resolution song for it as well, complete with relevant picture.
A True Brony (A True, True Friend (BONC Version))
[Violet Dream]
A true brony helps a friend in need
Whether right next door or across the sea
[Violet and Bo Diddly]
A true brony helps a friend in need
To see the light that shines from a true brony
*Pixel Coder: Um, hello! I'm still on stage?*
[Violet Dream]
Kitsune needs your help
She's trying hard doing what she can
[Bo Diddly]
Would you try, just give it a chance
You might find that you'll start to understand
[Violet and Bo Diddly]
A true brony helps a friend in need
Whether right next door or across the sea
A true brony helps a friend in need
To see the light that shines from a true brony
Pixel Coder: Uh, what just happened?
Violet Dream: There's no time to explain, but we need your help. Thunderkeg's trying to play matchmaker!
Pixel Coder: Say no more!
[Pixel Coder]
Thunderkeg needs your help
He's trying hard doing what he can
Would you try, just give it a chance
You might find that you'll start to understand
[Violet, Bo Diddly, and Pixel Coder]
A true brony helps a friend in need
Whether right next door or across the sea
A true brony helps a friend in need
To see the light that shines from a true brony
Kitsune Heart: Oh my…that was interesting? Actually…it still is. (snicker)
Violet Dream: Kitsune Heart, Nymo is about to lose the studio. We need Thunderkeg's help!
Kitsune Heart: Lose the studio? Well we can't let that happen, now can we?
[Kitsune Heart]
Nymo is in trouble
We need to get there by his side
We can try to do what we can now
For together we can be his guide
[Violet, Bo Diddly, Pixel Coder, and Kitsune Heart]
A true brony helps a friend in need
Whether right next door or across the sea
A true brony helps a friend in need
To see the light that shines from a true brony
Thunderkeg: ALRIGHT! Now that's what I'm talking about, what's next?
Violet Dream: The townspeople are furious, we need the old Nymo back.
Thunderkeg: I'm on it, I know just the pony.
[Thunderkeg]
The townsponies need you, they're all bored can't you see
They walk along without a song and have no energy
And if you feel the bass well then just drop it like it's hot
So get it done and spread some fun from here to Canterlot!
Nymo: Come on ponies, I wanna see you dance!
Crowd: Nymo!
[All and chorus]
A true brony helps a friend in need
Whether right next door or across the sea
A true brony helps a friend in need
To see the light (to see the light)
That shines (that shines)
From a true brony!
After that, the guys were blown away and are already starting to get ready for recording this as well. That much excitement makes me excited to do stuff, and so I organized another one, this time going for something more original rather than just another rewrite. I also wanted to include as many of them as I could. So, I asked them to send me their OCs, and I was going to create a brand new song and picture including everyone that sent me stuff. So far, I've received 17 characters, and I have a full month left to go. O.O
I had to start planning the picture at least (I have no idea how I'm going to do the song, but I'll figure it out eventually) and I got to this point after several versions and a few hours.
It's starting to come together...I'll post more updates later, but I figured this was a good way to start off this blog page. Also, in case you don't know...the brown one with goggles is my OC.
